FC Diablos to Hold July Mini-Season

BACK

FC Diablos Family,

The FC Diablos Board of Directors, continues to plan for the 2020 and 2021 season. Our work is guided first and foremost by the health and safety of our players, staff, and supporters. Our second priority is to serve our players as they prepare for their collegiate seasons or look to showcase their talents in the highest level of soccer in Bloomington-Normal.

We originally had no plans to field a team or practice during the 2020 season. After seeing the decrease in COVID-19 cases and the plan by the Governor of Illinois on reopening the State of Illinois, we have decided to hold a mini-season for the month of July 2020.

What does this mean for you?

Players: We will invite our full 2019 roster to return to train and play during the month of July. We will also open a limited amount of trial player spots to tryout for the 2020 mini-season. Please reach out to us at admin@fcdiablosil.com if you are interested in training and playing in the 2020 mini-season.

We do not plan on hosting any players for the mini-season and will have a priority of serving players in or near Bloomington-Normal. The mini-season will consist of 2-3 training sessions per week during the month of July. We will also play 2 non-league matches with a closed door policy.

Players will be required to purchase the new home Ginga Sportswear Player Kit for $40. Players may decide to purchase the away kit if they would like. The season fee to cover all club expenses will be $40 per player. Any non-returning players will be required to enter the club on a trial bases and have an additional trial fee of $20.

Supporters: Due to the safety hazards and restrictions set by Stage 4 of the Governor's orders, we will operate all matches with a closed-door policy. Only players, family members of players and coaches will be allowed to attend FC Diablos 2020 Mini-Season matches. Coaches interested in recruiting FC Diablos players may email us at admin@fcdiablosil.com to gain access to matches. All player profiles will be updated on our club website.

Local Businesses: In order to serve businesses, we have not accepted any money from businesses for the 2020 season. Now that we have more concrete plans for the 2020 season, we will have custom packages for businesses to partner with us. Partnerships for the 2020 season will be based on online presence and print material. No on field options will be available since we have a closed-door policy for matches.

If you are a business that is interested in partnering with us for the 2020 mini-season or the 2021 Midwest Premier League season, please email us at admin@fcdiablosil.com

Host Families: We will not host any players for the 2020 season. We appreciate our host families and we value their safety and do not see a way that we can host players and guarantee the safety for both players and host families. If you are interested in hosting a player for the 2021 season, please email us at admin@fcdiablosil.com

We hope that all of our players, staff, and supporters continue to stay safe and healthy and continue to practice social distancing and follow other recommendations set by the State of Illinois so that we can progress to Stage 5 and return to a sense of normalcy.

Thank You,

Roberto A Yepez
Club President
