Bloomington, IL- In accordance with local and international decisions to postpone major events, FC Diablos will be suspending all club activities until further notice. The safety and well being of players, staff, and supporters is a top priority.
Many people have different positions on the current outbreak and responses to the outbreak. The FC Diablos administration has taken many things into consideration before making this decision. Regardless of your position on the issue, we can agree that the reasons below are valid reasons to suspend all club events and activities:
- The Saftey of players, staff, and supporters should not be put at risk during the COVID-19 outbreak. The first step to dealing with the outbreak is to prevent possible spread to our immediate stakeholders.
- The Saftey of those who our players, staff, and supporters may come into contact should not be put at risk. Our players, staff, and supporters come into contact with those at higher risk of serious illness more than people realize. It is our responsibility to protect and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 to those at higher risk.
- The cancelation of classes, spring sports, and other events have taken away the opportunity of players, staff, and supporters who would have been near or in the area to participate in club events. To provide a better opportunity for players, staff, and supporters to be involved with the club, it is better to postpone activities until the world returns to a better state and people who would like to be involved with the club can do so in a safe and convenient manner.
We hope that the above reasons are enough for our players, staff, and supporters to understand the club's tough decision regarding the COVID-19 outbreak.
