FC Diablos to Compete in the MWPL

Bloomington, IL- After a great 2019 season full of great learning experiences in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), FC Diablos would like to announce the joining of the Midwest Premier League (MWPL) for the 2020 season.

In the winter of 2018, FC Diablos announced that they would be competing in the UPSL Midwest Conference. The UPSL is a national league that provides adult players a chance to showcase their talent in hopes of a national title. We are extremely grateful for the USPL and the league's administration for accepting us into the league and having faith in our administration and our competitiveness. We hope to see the UPSL in the future.

The Midwest Premier League is a regional soccer league that is formed of former UPSL soccer clubs and clubs at a similar level with a focus on sustainability and community relations. The MWPL will allow players to compete in meaningful matches throughout the summer.

"I want to thank Yan, from the UPSL, for helping us with our transition to the UPSL and for having faith in our mission as a club. I am excited for the club to join the MWPL and to start working with the rest of the clubs. The MWPL will allow our team, mostly formed of college players, to gain experience against top-level clubs in the area throughout the whole summer. I want to thank Cliff for his help in this exciting transition."
Roberto A Yepez - FC Diablos Club President

"The MWPL, I believe, is the perfect league for a club like ours. The MWPL gives us the chance to play against the best semi-pro clubs in the Midwest. The ability to be involved in the league administration will allow our club to continue building a strong foundation. Playing meaningful matches for the full summer will allow us to make stronger relationships on and off of the field. I am excited to face all of the teams of the MWPL in our inaugural season with the league. As a coach, I strive to always play top competition and the MWPL will allow us to continue this. Lastly, I think this is a great opportunity for all of our supporters to come out and enjoy some quality soccer. This is an opportunity to keep growing soccer in Central Illinois. I can't wait to get things started for the 2020 season. Conserve the Crib!"
Rian James - FC Diablos Head Coach

“We are excited that Roberto and FC Diablos are interested in the league. They clearly share the values that all the current teams prize and we look forward to working with them.”
Cliff Conrad - MWPL League President
